Cyber School English

Cyber School English is our own terminology that we use to describe our comprehensive English language courses. We recommend that this course is taken by native English language speakers as well as second language English speakers. It was developed as we think English is the most important subject and will be used the most by students throughout their entire lives. Without a strong command of English, students’ career and future prospects are limited. However, with strong English skills (reading, writing, listening & speaking) they are being placed in a better position to farther their careers and seize opportunities for advancement.

Cyber School English is an optional extra, but we think it is vitally important.

We have developed 29 different courses from levels 0 – 28, with Level 0 being an absolute beginner and Levels 21-28 being pre-tertiary.

For home language English speakers we recommend this being taken for their last 2 years (GED Level 1 and 2). For second language English speakers we recommend this be taken earlier on, from any grade that suits them.

Each course consists of sixteen one hour lessons and they can be done when convenient and at your own pace. Each course includes a manual in ebook format for the duration of the course, assessments to monitor your progress and pre-recorded audios. This is designed to offer you the maximum time flexibility to fit in with your schedule.

Before you enrol as a student, students should take an initial evaluation to assess their level of English proficiency. Once you have been scored after this evaluation, you will receive an automatic recommendation as to which course is best suited to your needs, I.e. Level 13 or Level 18, etc.

Certificates and Accreditation:

For those students that want to obtain an internationally accredited certificate after completing all our courses, they can take the IELTS test, which is taken worldwide at local test centres.

IELTS

IELTS is the International English Language Testing System, the world’s proven English language test. IELTS was one of the pioneers of four skills English language testing over 21 years ago, and continues to set the standard for English language testing today.

IELTS is accepted as evidence of English language proficiency by over 8,000 organisations worldwide. Last year, more than 2 million tests were taken globally. IELTS is recognised as a secure, valid and reliable indicator of true-to-life ability to communicate in English for education, immigration and professional accreditation.

IELTS is jointly owned by British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge English Language Assessment through more than 900 test centres and locations in over 130 countries. See http://www.ielts.org/.

The Cyber School English courses enable students to optionally take this test, and the higher level courses are designed to give you the skills required to successfully pass the IELTS test.

Modules:

Levels 0 –20 are pre IELTS standard and levels 21 – 28 are designed for those wishing to take the IELTS test. Students can also take the course and are not obliged to actually take the IELTS test.
