Virtual Reality:

These videos are immersive video content accessed through the use of virtual reality headsets. Unlike ordinary videos, virtual reality videos create an illusion of the user being part of the video through the rendition of 3D images.

As a user, you are given a 360° sense of depth allowing you to look around in every direction you choose to look at.

You will need to own an Android mobile phone and then you can easily watch virtual reality videos with the help of Google’s Cardboard. All you have to do is to slot the device into the cheaply made Cardboard viewer and start enjoying the VR experience, though on a lower grade.

For more enhanced virtual reality experience, you will be required to invest in a decent virtual reality headset which you can then use to get more immersive experiences when watching the content.

Once you register for the VR option, we will send you information regarding options to obtain a headset. Typically, they cost between R60 – R400, excluding delivery.

Here is a sample Virtual Reality video. You can view it via your web browser and navigate 360 degrees by clicking on the navigation arrows in the upper left. Once you have a viewer and have the free Google app installed on your mobile phone, you will navigate by moving your head instead of clicking on these arrows, and will of course experience the next best thing to actually being there!

Audio Visual:

Audio visual videos tap into the senses of hearing and seeing the academic content. Here we take the audio lessons currently offered in Option 2 and combine them with relevant visual content so increase student engagement, retention and stimulation. Please note as this is a major developmental undertaking, these videos will be added as time passes and not all lessons are in audio visual format at this stage.
