Existing Cyber School Students

For existing Premium Cyber School students the entire Life Skills program is offered for free for Grade 8, Grade 9, GED L1 and GED L2
(Value: R41 165)

  • Cyber School students taking the Premium option receive tuition for the South African CAPS aligned curriculum up to grade 9 and then the GED® aligned curriculum in compliance with those regulations; in addition, they receive the Cyber School Life Skills program.
  • The extra Life Skills program subjects do not replace, but will rather complement and be taken side by side with the current curriculum.
  • The main curriculum is mandatory and whilst certificates of completion are issued for each of the Life Skills courses, they are not certified by any external body and are designed to offer sorely needed extra knowledge and skills that we feel are lacking in all schooling curricula.
  • In this context, this program is a range of different courses that we have created to collectively make up the delivery of an entirely new range of skills and knowledge to those students that are enrolled.
  • We believe that students don’t get enough of these knowledge and skills that they need from the existing curricula that are offered; the curricula are in most cases hopelessly outdated and not nearly as relevant as they should be for today’s modern, ever changing, information based era.
  • In the new world in which we live now, Shakespeare, complex Trigonometry, advanced biology terms, scientific formulas about the elements, and studying content that is irrelevant and won’t be used again have little place in our daily lives. Instead, we need to better equip our children to face the challenges of tomorrow.
  • All students have to study the content of their current schooling curriculum as that is not negotiable and is a requirement to pass the examinations that are set by those examining bodies. There is no escaping that.
  • However, there are courses and subjects that you can offer your children to better equip them for these challenges. We have identified various subject areas that we think all students should know more about, in order to give them a better chance at succeeding and making the right decisions throughout their careers.
  • The course grades attained by students will display on report cards as each course level contains graded assessments. However, these grades are not part of the official curriculum but will still count towards a student’s overall grade average. This allows parents to assess the ongoing progress of their children for the courses covered in this program.

English Partner PRO

English Partner Pro is our own terminology that we use to describe our comprehensive English language courses. We recommend that this course is taken by native English language speakers as well as second language English speakers. It was developed as we think English is the most important subject and will be used the most by students throughout their entire lives. Without a strong command of English, students’ career and future prospects are limited. However, with strong English skills (reading, writing, listening & speaking) they are being placed in a better position to farther their careers and seize opportunities for advancement.

We have developed a course consisting of 20 levels, with Level 1 being an absolute beginner and Level 20 being pre-tertiary.

Spanish Partner PRO

Spanish Partner Pro is our own terminology that we use to describe our comprehensive Spanish language courses. It was developed as we think Spanish is an important subject and will be used by students throughout their entire lives. With strong Spanish skills (reading, writing, listening & speaking) they are being placed in a better position to farther their careers and seize opportunities for advancement.

We have developed a course that consists of 15 levels, with Level 1 being an absolute beginner and Level 15 as pre-tertiary.

Our thinking tells us what to believe, what to reject, what is important, what is unimportant, what is true, what is false, who are our friends, who are our enemies, how we should spend our time, what jobs we should pursue, where we should live, who we should marry, how we should parent.

Therefore, learning to think at the highest level of quality, or to think critically, is too important to leave to chance. Critical thinking is the disciplined art of ensuring that you use the best thinking you are capable of using in any set of circumstances. Through developed critical capacities, you can take command of the thinking that is commanding you.

Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence (EQ) is the ability to identify, use, understand, and manage emotions in positive ways to relieve stress, communicate effectively, empathize with others, overcome challenges, and defuse conflict. Emotional intelligence impacts many different aspects of your daily life, such as the way you behave and the way you interact with others.

If you have high emotional intelligence you are able to recognize your own emotional state and the emotional states of others, and engage with people in a way that draws them to you. You can use this understanding of emotions to relate better to other people, form healthier relationships, achieve greater success at work, and lead a more fulfilling life.

Every student needs to know how to study, but many don’t! This prevents them from realising their true potential. We have a solution to try and address this issue.

We offer a part-time course that is taken over 8 weeks, and ends with an end of course assessment. Consisting of 8 easy to follow weekly modules.

Computer, Mobile Phone and Internet Literacy

The vast majority of our children need basic mobile phone, computer/pc and internet literacy skills to thrive in future. Yet, we assume or take it for granted that because we all live in the Information Age that everyone knows what they need to regarding these vital topics.

A hidden benefit of being a Cyber School student is that your child will emerge as being fairly proficient in English (if it isn’t their native language) and PC and internet literate, as this is an entirely virtual environment.

We have created a course that covers the essential topics a young student may need. The course consist of 15 modules.

This Problem-solving course will lay a foundation for effective problem solving and decision making and enable you to assess and evaluate certain obstacles in life. You will gain confidence and by thinking critically, learn how to avoid common obstacles in life.

You will be personally challenged and positively influenced towards individual and organizational problems in today’s confused world. After completion of this course you will be ready to take on the world as a confident individual.

The SAT and SAT Subject Tests are a suite of tools designed to assess your academic readiness for college. These exams provide a path to opportunities, financial support and scholarships, in a way that’s fair to all students. The SAT and SAT Subject Tests keep pace with what colleges are looking for today, measuring the skills required for success in the 21st century. It tests your knowledge of reading, writing and mathematics — subjects that are taught every day in high school classrooms.

Our courses are designed to prepare students to successfully pass the SAT with good enough grades to farther their tertiary education. The courses are all delivered online and are part time with lessons typically twice per week.
